What are vitamins?
The word vitamin is derived from the Latin “vita” meaning life and “amin” which means organic composition. There are thirteen vitamins clustered in one or two different categories: lipophilic or fat soluble and hidrofilitas, soluble in water. Fat-soluble vitamins include vitamin A, D, E, K. Water soluble vitamins are: B1, B2, B6, B12, panthenol, C, biotin, folate, and niacin.

The vitamins are found naturally in plants and animals. Vitamins are essential for normal body functioning. With few exceptions the body can not produce or synthesize vitamins. To obtain these vital nutrients the body needs external sources in the form of vitamins. Vitamins are necessary for the functioning of organs and contribute to cellular metabolism.

Vitamins must be supplied regularly to the body either through food or taking supplements. Our usual diet and lifestyle have a major impact on total body wellness. Poor dietary habits, a diet high in sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and rob the body of essential nutrients like vitamin C and B.

It’s healthy to eat a balanced diet containing fresh vegetables and fruits and plenty of water. Vitamin supplements (tablets) taken regularly helps the body stay despite the daily emotional stress and environmental forces. It is very important that the vitamin is obtained primarily from the diet and secondarily in the consumption of vitamins. People should not be expected that the tablets (capsules, liquids or pills) provide them with all the nutrients that is precisely why they are called supplements because food supplement.

Essential vitamins for skin care
Of the 13 most important vitamins in the formulas for skin care are vitamin A, E, C and panthenol.

Vitamin A (beta carotene)
The body produces vitamin A, therefore we must get in our diet. Vitamin A increases the activity of enzymes and stimulates skin cell division (regeneration of the skin), improving skin condition. Cosmetic products containing vitamin A improves skin elasticity and regenerate prematurely aged skin, contributes to a more youthful skin looking smooth and even. Vitamin A normalizes the skin keratizacion (cell renewal), this is the process that works against dry skin. This makes it very effective to improve conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne Vulgarities. It also improves collagen production and thus contributes to a firmer skin.

Vitamin E (tocopherol)
Vitamin E is a key component in the structure of the body’s cells and helps improve the immune system which prevents cell degeneration. Vitamin E in cosmetic creams increases microcirculation of the skin (the blood flowed) ensuring better nutrition to improve tissue elasticity of the skin and reducing wrinkles. The external application of vitamin E help to inhibit inflammation and to heal the scars. These anti-inflammatory properties help the skin to its natural regenerative process. It is especially useful to reduce scarring after surgery or in cases of acne. This also provides a natural protection against ultra violet rays and their negative effects.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
This vitamin plays an important role in the sintering process of collagen, improving skin elasticity. External applications of vitamin C help refine skin texture, reduce pigmentation spots and significantly improve skin tone. Stimulates collagen production thereby helping the firmness of the foot.

Vitamin C is water soluble and has a limited ability to penetrate the skin. It is also recommended that this vitamin is obtained in a formulation that contains a system for transfer to the skin as liposomes.

Panthenol
This belongs to the group of vitamin B. In the skin is converted to acid Pantene, which is part of every cell and is essential for cell metabolism. It helps the body use other vitamins and improves the body’s resistance to stress. Creams containing Panthenol provide calm and help heal skin for damage. Panthenol helps speed keratizacion the dermis and increases the level of moisture in the skin leaving skin feeling soft and supple.
