We need vitamins to stay healthy, but also for growth, repair and operation of the body. The body can itself create a number of vitamins (including vitamin K), but most people get through the diet. There are two types of vitamins: water soluble and fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin A, D, E and K are fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin C and the B vitamins are water soluble vitamins. The fat-soluble vitamins are mainly in fatty foods and the cells can be recorded and stored. The water-soluble vitamins, particularly in the moisture of food are, can not be saved and should be supplemented daily. An excess of water soluble vitamins leave the body through the urine.
