
What is a Keloid Scar?
It is a progressively enlarging scar, protruding and irregular, consequence of excessive formation of collagen in the dermis during connective tissue repair.
More simply, it is a large and unsightly scar that occurs unpredictably after a surgical incision or wound.
These elevations of the skin, compared to the crab claws, sometimes accompanied branches correspond to hypertrophy, that is to say, an exaggeration of a scar that occurs after trauma to the skin. (more…)
